Advanced Microbiology Lab
Spring 2025
My first microbiology classes (MCB3023 + 3023L) exposed me to foundational microbiological principles and techniques. From there, I chose Antimicrobial Resistance and General Virology as my electives. These classes strengthened my interest in the relationship between pathogens and host immune responses. General Virology also improved my understanding of viral replication and infection, aiding me in my norovirus research. Genetics of Microorganisms provided me with an understanding of the intricacies of the central dogma of molecular biology. The BACE Training class helped me to prepare to take the BACE exam to become a credentialed biotechnician assistant. I am now learning about immunology and bacterial diseases in Bacterial Pathogens. Prokaryotic Cell Structure and Function is teaching me about the structures and metabolic processes of bacteria and archaea. I have not yet taken Advanced Microbiology Lab, but I am excited to learn more!
